Len Humphreys OAM
Founder of Humphreys Dance Studio in 1967.
Len & Pam competed for 24 years winning all Western Australian
titles plus Australasian and South Pacific titles in Exhibition
dancing.
In 1977 they undertook a period of fulltime study in England.
- Awarded the Order Of Australia Medal in the Queens birthday honors list of 2003 for services to dancing.
- Life Member of Dance Masters International Association.
Len has proven to be one of Australia's most outstanding Dancesport coaches having trained multiple champions at all levels including Juvenile, Junior, Youth, Amateur and Professional over many years.
Previously an Examiner with DMIA, Len now also trains many
students for the theory section of Accreditation exams.
Considered to be one of Australia's most experienced Adjudicators
having judged all major National Championships over many
years.
Amongst his International Adjudicating appointments Len was
appointed to judge the Worlds Professional Ballroom Championship in
Germany.
Glen Tierney

Glen Tierney has been described as one of the finest Ballroom
dancers Australia has ever produced.
Glen's history as an international dance star includes being twice
British (closed) and twice West European Amateur Ballroom Champion
and Undefeated Australian, South Pacific and Australasian
Professional Ballroom Champion.
Glen, who is a 3 times winner at Blackpool, is the recipient of
an award from the Australian Dancing Board for Outstanding
International Achievement and has also been named "Australian
Professional Competitor Of The Year".
Glen is the only Australian in history to have won the British Open
Modern Sequence Championships at the famous Wintergardens Ballroom
at Blackpool in England.
Following on from Glen's retirement from the competitive world,
he continued his success into the world of coaching and
teaching.
Glen has trained State, National and International Ballroom
champions again and again over the past 20 years and, as
recognition for his achievements, was named "Australian Coach Of
The Year".
Glen is accredited with Dancesport Australia as a Level 3 Coach
and Adjudicator (Dancesport Australia's highest level).
He is a multiple World Championship Adjudicator having judged both
Amateur and Professional World Championships in Ballroom, Latin
American and Ten Dance including the World Professional Ballroom
Championships at the home of dancing, Blackpool, England.
Glen regularly teaches and adjudicates in Asia and has conducted
Dance Camps, lectured at Congress and trained National Squad
members in many countries throughout Asia including China,
Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Hong Kong and
Indonesia.
Glen is also a regular Adjudicator at local and National
Championships within Australia.
In addition to Glen's competitive coaching he is also a very accomplished social teacher from beginners through to medal candidates and also teaches many children within the Humphreys Schools program.
Glen is a very complete Professional who also makes a contribution to the administrative side of Dancesport by being a member of the Executive Committee of Dancesport W.A.
Debbie-Anne Tierney
Turned Professional at the age of 16.
Australian Professional Rising Star Champion.
Debbie-Anne and Glens commitment to the world of dance has been at
the highest level and prior to retiring from performing to raise
their family, Debbie-Anne traveled with Glen to demonstrate and
lecture extensively throughout Australia and Asia.
Debbie-Anne's reputation as one of Australia's leading lady teachers is evident when one sees the champions of today who started in the children's class with Debbie-Anne over the years.
Her infectious personality together with her amazing dance knowledge makes her a real favorite with children and adults alike.
Pamela Humphreys-Martin OAM

Pamlea & Len competed for 24 years winning all Western

Pamela, whilst spending less time in the studio these days,
co-ordinates the very successful Schools
Program.
This program, now in over 100 schools around W.A has been operating
for the past 40 years and was one of the main reasons for Pamela
and Len receiving the Order Of Australia Medal.
Craig Denham
Craig has been a National and International Dancesport Star through all age categories since beginning his dancing career at Humphreys at the age of 7.
He is qualified and accredited with Dancesport Australia and is an outstanding teacher for all levels in Ballroom, Latin American and New Vogue. Craig is always a hit in teaching the kids classes and is also terrific at Salsa.

Grete Kasi
Grete has travelled from her home country of Estonia to live and work here in Perth. Grete has teamed up with Craig to compete as a Professional in Australian and International Dancesport and their first Competition was at the Australian Championships in Melbourne in December where they danced as professionals and achieved an amazing 4th place. Together with being a very dedicated dancesport competitor, Grete is a very experienced and competant Dance Teacher. Grete started dancing when she was just six years old. She is a very energetic, positive and driven young lady and is not only a qualified and accredited Ballroom Dance Teacher but has also expanded her knowledge studying Contemporary, Jazz, Classical and Estonian Folk Dance styles. Grete's vast experience and friendly and helpful nature are a great asset to Humphreys and we are very pleased to have her.

Todd Annetts
Todd was first introduced to dancing when Humphreys introduced their school dance program to Lesmurdie High School back in the early 1980's, and is still with us to this day. Todd studied for his degrees over several years.
It has been said that with his knowledge and experience he is one of the most complete teachers of Adult and Children Social and Medal level dancers in Australia. Todd is a true Professional and is most at home teaching large classes and medal exam candidates. He can also be counted on to help coach graded competitors when necessary.
Mitchell Ball
Mitchell started his dancing career at a very young age. Commencing Ballroom and Latin studies at age 6 and moving onto contemporary, ballet, jazz and spanish through a scholarship at John Curtin College of the Arts. Theatre and performing has always been a big part of his life. Mitchell at age 12 was Australian, Australasian, South Pacific, and World Gold Cup Champion in Ballroom, Latin, and New Vogue styles. Still competing to this day, Mitchell has gone on to become a National 10 Dance finalist and succesful international amatuer finalist. With 20 years of dance experience and a succesful coaching, choreography, and teaching career, Mitchell is a valued member of the Humphreys family. Not only is Mitch a fantastic teacher in all styles and all levels including running our Saturday kids classes, but he is also a very succesful DJ and hosts many of our Social Dance Party Nights and Private functions at the studio. Mitch is always fun to be around and guaranteed to made us all smile. Mitch is available for private lessons any time at the studio so please give us a call if you would like to book some time with him.
Tegan Short
We are very pleased to have Tegan join our teaching staff. Since she began dancing at aged 8, Tegan has been a Dancesport Champion through all age categories. Most significantly, Tegan and Craig achieved the honour of being World Championship Representatives in 2007 and in 2008. Tegan currently coaches Juv, Junior and Adult couples. Craig & Tegan were undefeated in Western Australia in Modern throughout their entire partnership and were 2005 Finalists in the Asia Pacific Dancesport Championships (Hong Kong)

Lauren de Rozario & Sean Van der Poel
Lauren & Sean, both accredited dance teachers with Dancesport Australia are WA Open New Vogue Champions and National Finalists. They are one of WA's top couples in Ballroom and New Vogue and are a shinning example to younger dancers.
Lauren starting dancing in the children's classes at Humphreys Dance Studio when she was 10 years old before beginning her quick climb up the competitive Dancesport ladder when she was 13.
Sean came to Humphreys in 2003 after starting his dancing at another studio and has gone from strength to strength in that time.
Erin Thomas
Erin has been teaching at Humphreys since turning professional with husband Jason Thomas in 1999. She is available to teach/coach individuals, couples or groups in Ballroom, Latin American or New Vogue on a social or competitive level.
Achievements:
- 3 times undefeated Australian Professional New Vogue Champion
- 2 times undefeated South Pacific Champion
- Undefeated Australasian Professional New Vogue Champion
- Australian Professional Modern Finalist

- Selected as the sole representative for Australia (with previous partner) in the 1998 World 10 Dance Championship in
- Copenhagen, Denmark.
Callum Hawes
Callum's dancing commenced with Humphreys back in 2002 when he
joined the Saturday kids
classes. Keen to improve as quickly as possible he joined the
Medal Classes to develop his quality and technique. Since that time
Callum has worked his way through the medal exam system and in 2005
started competing in Dancesport competitions.
Callum has since competed in many local and interstate
competitions, including travelling to Canberra and Melbourne for
the National Dancesport Championships and the Australian Dancesport
Championships respectively. Along with his partner Francesca they
have ranked in the top 12 in Australia in their level for
both standard and latin american styles and are aiming even
higher in the upcoming competitions.
Along with competing, Callum has also gained his level 0
accreditation and is currently available to teach medalists and
social dancers as well as eventually hoping to coach competitive
couples in the future.
Callum is also a member of the Humphreys
Schools Program and enjoys teaching school children all across
the Perth metropolitan area.
Jacky Shue
Jacky began her dance career as a salsa dancer and has since moved into the world of social Latin & Ballroom with ease. Jacky is a valued member of our studio family and can been seen both teaching and assisting in our social and medal group classes. Admin support, promotions and customer service are also among her responsibilities and we invite you to send Jacky an email any time if you have any queries about Humphreys. Jacky also arranges Corporate Functions and Private Social Dance Evenings at Humphreys and can often be seen hosting our regular social club groups for a fun night of dance and laughter. She is a very relaxed and easy going social dance teacher who is available for social beginner and bridal private lessons.
Lisa-Viola Passalacqua
Lisa joined Humphreys as a social beginner in 2007 with no social dance experience and since then she has never looked back. Lisa has become a very committed and enthusiastic member of our Humphreys family both as a social dancer, a teaching assistant in both social and medal classes and also a very easy-going and comfortable teacher of both bridal and social beginner private students. Lisa adores her role working with kids for the Pamela Humphreys Teaching in Schools program during the day time and is a very valued member of our Studio.
Caroline Hilder

Caroline Hilder has been dancing since 1997 and is passionate about both dancing and teaching. Caroline has been involved in Dancesport Competition in the past but is now focused on teaching. She is qualified at Level 'O' with Dancesport Australia and is currently training for further qualifications. Caroline enjoys teaching both Adults and Children at Social and Medal Levels as well as our Bridal Couples and she firmly believes that learning to dance is one of the best things you can ever do! |
Christie Bosworth
Christie started dancing at Humphreys in 1999 in the Kids Classes. Soon after, she commencing private lessons and progressed through the medal system. She started competitive dancing when she was 12 and successfully competed within each age level, achieving great results including a Junior Championship Title in Singapore. As an adult competitor, she was a consistent state and National 10 dance finalist. After moving to Sydney to dance in 2009, she arrived home in 2010 to further her university studies. Christie is an accredited DanceSport coach and is an accomplished teacher in all styles. Her passion is in teaching children and she is an integral part of the ongoing success of the children’s classes.
Christie and her partner David consistantly finish in the top 3 of most WA Dancesport Championships and are quickly gaining a reputation as quality dancers whenever competing interstate.
Helen Bosworth
Helen has been involved with Humphreys since 1999 as both a dancing Mum and medallist, completing up to Oscar level before discontinuing due to ongoing ill health. She is still a very active member of the Humphreys staff, co-ordinating the Saturday Kids’ Classes and Humphreys Fundraising. For the past few years, Helen has joined with Glen and Debbie-Anne in partnership in Humphreys Dance Supplies and Beat St Dance Supplies. As a commitment to the dance industry, combined with an extensive knowledge of business practice, Helen joined the board of DanceSport Australia in 2005 and has held the position of Executive Officer since 2009.
