NEW BRONZE CROSS MODERN 10 week course commencing Tues 21st at 8.30pm. Anyone who has attended our Bronze Modern Classes or danced to a similar level is welcome to join us. The course will be $165 per person for 10 weeks. Please buzz the studio on 9361 6734 or send an email for more info and to book.
At Humphreys Dance Studio we pride ourselves on producing Perth's finest technical/medal dancers. Our Bronze Level Medal/Technique group adult dance classes are run over a 10 week course. The higher level Medals such as Silver may be increased to 15 weeks or more depending on the progress of the group.
Anyone who has completed Social Beginners Level 1 or above is welcome to join our Bronze Classes. Booking in advance is essential to secure your place. At the end of the course you have the option to take the medal exam and we usually coordinate a medals day at the studio and all are welcome to attend to enjoy the performances. However, many students chose to attend our medal courses just to improve their technique, musicality, body movement, hip & leg action and partnering skills.
Medal & Technique Dance Classes are a natural progression to follow on from our Social Latin & Ballroom Classes and a great opportunity for all our Social Dancers to work on technique, correct footwork, leg and body action and improve partnering skills and enjoyment on the dance floor.
We are unable to accept pay as you go (casual) for our Medal Courses however we are happy to use 10 classes from your Humphreys Dance Card or Voucher.

Earlier this year I came to Humphries to get back into dancing again. I haven’t danced for about 6 years and I came in and joined in the salsa dancing class on Friday nights. Everyone at the studio made me feel very welcome and Jacky does a fantastic job with this class. She makes it really enjoyable and goes at a pace that suits everyone. It is a very social class and it is all about having a bit of fun, and having a social dance at the same time.
I then decided to also join the Wednesday Night Gold Latin Medal Class. Due to previously completing the medals many years ago, the main reason behind doing the class was not to do the medals, but to get back into the swing of dancing, improve my technique and learn a few new things. The class is run really well with Craig and Jacky making the classes enjoyable and the routines achievable (no matter how daunting or confusing it may look at the beginning). They both put a lot of energy into the class to make sure that we can get the most out of it. We are also sometimes lucky enough to have Rosa join the class and help, and it is amazing just to be able to learn from her. It enables things to be shown in a different aspect and it is the little things that she explains that make a difference to your technique.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoy both classes and I look forward to going each week.

The Gold Latin Medal class is brilliant. The routines are complex but the teachers are supportive. I’ve learnt so much in this class and I love every minute of it.
I am enjoying Craig Denham’s Gold Latin Medal classes. Craig is an inspiring Dance Teacher, his passion for dancing is infectious, he always choreographs interesting routines and has a clear and open style when communicating about technique. Jacky (who organised and teaches the popular Salsa classes) assists Craig and brings an air of fun and friendship to the group and she’s always willing to re-explain some intricate step. Now and then we are very lucky to have Rosa Filippello to work with us on movement and technique. Rosa and her dance partner Arkady were ranked 11th at the Blackpool Dance Festival in May 2010, which is open to the World, and she is generous in sharing quick tips to improve our technique and our sense of style. Thank you for a fabulous class.
