Social Beginners Level 1 Ballroom & Latin Dance Classes (Thursdays 8.30pm)

For the newbies – Perth’s best beginner dance class

If you’re new to dancing and ready to get started, our Social Beginners Level 1 Ballroom & Latin dance classes are the perfect way to dive in! This 1.5-hour class is designed specifically for absolute beginners, offering a fun and supportive environment to learn the basics of popular ballroom and Latin dances.

The class is structured as a 3-week course, where we focus on two different dances each cycle, so you can easily join in at any point without waiting for a long term to start. The first hour is dedicated to dance instruction, followed by 30 minutes of social dance practice, where you can put your new moves into action and build confidence on the floor.

Throughout the course, you’ll learn foundational steps and technique for a variety of dances, including:

  • Waltz
  • Jive
  • Tango
  • Rumba
  • Cha Cha
  • Slow Rhythm

Our beginner social dance classes also include a fun mix of popular social dances like Progressive Jive, Rock Barn Dance, and Evening Three Step — giving you the confidence to hit the dance floor at any social event in Perth, all while enhancing your social dance repertoire alongside our comprehensive curriculum.  After completing the 9-week cycle, you’ll be ready to move on to Social Beginners Level 2, or even explore our Medal Classes to further advance your skills.  Whether you want to dance socially or start preparing for competitions, this class is the perfect stepping stone to your dance journey.​

    Social Beginners Level 2 Ballroom & Latin Dance Classes (Thursdays 8.30pm)

    Got some skills?

    If you have danced elsewhere or have attended our Level 1 Beginners then this class is for you.   Once again, the classes are run as a 3 week course and it takes 9 weeks to complete all the dances.   Once you have completed Level 2, you may consider moving into our Medal Classes if you wish to improve you technique and/or move on to our Social Beginners Level 3 classes to improve your repertoire of steps and figures.   Dances covered in Level 2 are:

    • Waltz
    • Jive
    • Quickstep
    • Rumba
    • Cha Cha
    • Slow Foxtrot

    Stay for Social Dance Practice after class to revise and practice your new moves.

      Social Beginners Level 3 Ballroom & Latin Dance Classes (Thurs 7.30pm)

      If you have danced elsewhere or have completed our Social Beginners Level 1 and 2 classes then this class is for you.  Also run as a 3 week course and also taking 9 weeks to complete, these classes cover the following dances:

      • Waltz
      • Jive
      • Quickstep
      • Rumba
      • Cha Cha
      • Slow Foxtrot

      Once you have completed Level 3 you may wish to consider our Medal Classes and/or move into our Social Intermediate/Advanced Class.

        Social Level 4 / Intermediate Ballroom & Latin Dance Classes (Friday 8.00pm)

        For the more experience dancers

        If you have danced elsewhere or have completed our Social Beginners Levels 1 to 3 classes then this class is for you.  Also run as a 3 or 4 week course, these classes cover the following dances:

        • Waltz
        • Jive
        • Quickstep
        • Rumba
        • Cha Cha
        • Slow Foxtrot
        • Tango
        • Samba

        Our Level 4/Intermediate Classes are ongoing so many students will stay in this level and continue to learn more comprehensive technique and choreography during every course.  You may wish to also consider adding a Medal Class to your ongoing learning.​

          • New Vogue:  Experience the elegance and beauty of New Vogue, a fun and highly popular Ballroom dance style. We offer a dedicated New Vogue class every Friday evening at 7:30 PM, where you can learn this distinctive dance style, beloved by both social dancers and competitive dancers.
